Clue: Winter Wonderland
Can you solve a Murder Mystery?
This mystery will be available from November 16th at 12PM to December 11th. No registration required.
You’re invited to the winter party of the year! Each winter, Parks and Recreation staff rent a cabin in Fairbanks to ski and enjoy holiday traditions. The party is marked with the “Big Reveal” of the Holiday Tree as the doors to the “Christmas Room” swing open and there stands Mike, Parks and Recreation Director, clad in a designer suit, placing the star atop the giant tree. This year though, when the doors swing open, staff find Mike has been murdered! Who killed him? How? Where was the cabin? Use your sleuth and prowess to find the killer, all while exploring Fairbanks trails and parks this winter season!
Clues will be hidden along Flicker Trail at Tanana Lakes, along the Nature Trail at Chena Lake, at Pioneer Park Gold Rush Town, at Bernice Allridge Park, at Griffin Park and at 5th Avenue Park in North Pole.
Search high and low for clues along the trails and in the parks that will mention either a suspect, weapon or location thatwasn't used in the crime. Each location has one location clue, one weapon clue and one suspect clue (except for the crime location that is!). If you find no clues at a location, you have solved where the crime took place!You will need to walk, snowshoe or ski on each path to make sure you don’t miss any evidence. Please do not walk in the groomed ski tracks. By a process of elimination, your investigative skills will lead you to the suspect, weapon used in the crime and crime location.
Once you have solved the murder mystery, email lauren.eck@fnsb.gov with your answer to see if you are correct! Let us know many detectives are in your family. Three lucky families will be drawn to win a Local Coffee Shop Gift Card & Parks and Recreation swag!
DON’T give away the answer online, we want to keep this fun going and give everyone a chance to figure it out. Be sure to maintain appropriate social distancing while you investigate and please don't touch or remove the clue! Have fun & good luck!
